Banana State of Being: A Social Imagery
A multimedia installation, composed of five distinct parts, Banana State of Being: A Social Imagery is a comical ode to the superficiality and absurdity of current production of ‘self-image’. Each part represents an aspect—assumed identity—that one projects in order to relate to others in the social context. Collectively, the five showcase a controlled, but cursory persona of the artist: feminist, atheist, poet, pirate, and activist. What connects them, the commonalities and social values, are symbolized by bananas: an absurd fable agreed upon.
